Liberty German, affectionately known as 'Libby,' was a spirited and talented young girl from Delphi, Indiana. Born on December 27, 2002, she was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend who brought joy to everyone around her. Libby was known for her infectious smile and her ability to light up a room with her presence. She was a dedicated student who excelled in her studies and had a keen interest in science and technology.
Libby had a passion for sports and was an active participant in volleyball, softball, and swimming. Her competitive spirit and teamwork made her a valued member of her teams, and she was always eager to support her friends and teammates. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Libby was a budding photographer, capturing the beauty of the world around her through her lens.
Family was at the heart of Libby's life. She shared a close bond with her sister, Kelsi, and cherished the time spent with her grandparents and extended family. Libby's kindness and empathy were evident in her interactions with others, and she was known for her willingness to help those in need.
Libby's life was tragically cut short on February 13, 2017, when she and her friend Abigail Williams were murdered near the Monon High Bridge Trail in Delphi. Despite the tragedy, Libby's bravery in capturing video and audio evidence of the suspect on her smartphone has been crucial in the ongoing investigation, highlighting her courage and presence of mind in a dire situation. Her legacy continues to inspire and drive the pursuit of justice.
